Before starting Faire, Sydney built, ran, and sold a small business that linked administrative assistants with local start-ups, nonprofits and other clients in the Austin, Texas area. Before that, Sydney worked for a small advertising company, and ran Monty & Joie, a dress company she started in college. Sydney has volunteered doing environmental/wildlife conservation in Cambodia, and throughout Texas, with organizations like ReachOut Volunteers and Refugee Services of Texas, where she teaches business classes for refugees. She also mentors high school girls through ChickTech, an Austin non-profit dedicated to retaining women in the technology workforce and increasing the number of women and girls pursuing technology-based careers. Sydney earned her BS in Advertising and Business Foundations at UT-Austin, and studied Media and Global Change at the Salzburg Academy in Austria. She earned her MBA from the Acton School of Business.

Over the ensuing decades, they have built, purchased, and sold over 50 businesses. Their companies have spanned industries including, but not limited to: craft spirits, American and European real estate, technology, and even a restaurant in Paris. An advocate for adolescents and families struggling with substance abuse, Terrell also founded Austin-area non-profit Teen and Family Services-Austin, and served as Chairperson of its Board for 4 years. She has also served on the Boards of Austin Recovery, Teen and Family Services-Houston, and has been involved with numerous other boards and committees in the Houston and Austin-area communities. When Sydney asked her to come on board at Faire, she knew very quickly that Faire’s vision spoke to her background in business and advocacy.

Heidi is Faire’s Regional Director and Certifier, and is based in Delhi, India. In that role, she wears many hats, but focuses on finding and on-boarding new Faire sellers, maintaining and building relationships with relevant organizations and companies in the ethically-sourced product space, and is leading Faire’s effort to develop our Ethical Production Verification Process, the tool that helps us apply our Core Ethical Standards in building Faire’s marketplace. Her specializations include poverty reduction, small- and micro-enterprise development, and Fair trade. She has 10+ years of experience in the Fair Trade space, both from private sector and INGO vantage points. As an entrepreneur, she also managed an online shop and a Fair Trade importing business for 9 years and worked for INGOs of all sizes in their poverty reduction and education programmes, mainly throughout Asia. She holds Masters degrees in Environmental Social Sciences and Education.

Since then, he has been involved with startups as a founder, fractional CTO, mentor, and advisor. He also contributes to the community by running AustinRB and Austin on Rails, two meetups dedicated to the Ruby programming language, by volunteering with organizations like ChickTech Austin, and a mentor to DivInc, a program dedicated to diversity.

She also has experience in fashion design––having learned how to sew from her Mom at an early age––and was even able to learn under professional tailors while in Thailand. At one point, Maci even ran her own Etsy shop, featuring her own handmade designs. She has a knack for storytelling and content creation and oversees everything from Faire’s social media strategy, to graphic art and the brand's overall creative direction. Before joining the Faire Team, Maci was Digital Coordinator at a San Antonio Public Relations Firm.

His research background is mostly in political theory and American politics, but his other interests include the ethics and economics of international trade, U.S. public law, foreign affairs, and development. Beyond working in numerous grassroots non-profit settings before and during college, he has done humanitarian and environmental work in Siem Reap, Cambodia, and worked as a counselor, mentor, and inclusion teacher with at-risk students in Texas public schools (mostly supporting efforts to combat teen substance abuse). Before coming to Faire, he worked as a journalist for The Whim, writing on American politics and foreign affairs, and federal court cases. He took his BA in Government and Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin, and is commencing graduate work in New York City next Fall.

Her practice is primarily focused on providing strategic legal guidance for clients on legislative and regulatory matters––mostly in the realm of environmental and natural resources law. She also represents clients on various business and operational matters and consults with clients on project development. Prior to starting her own firm in 2014, Christina worked at large law firms, a statewide trade association, and in the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C. For two semesters, she taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law.
